Mann Cup Last Remaining Major Trophy
Welcome back to the Box Lacrosse Roundup. After a week off, readers should expect the newsletter in their email inbox every Monday and Friday at noon est.
The news this week is the Mann Cup. Five major trophies are handed out annually in box lacrosse. The NLL Championship, Minto Cup, Founders Cup, Presidents Cup have all been awarded this summer, and only the Mann remains.
After a controversial start to the tournament, the lacrosse action has been incredible. Six Nations lost a difficult first game to Victoria 9-8, but rebounded with a nice 10-4 victory in the second game.

Mann Cup Heads for Crucial Game Three
The Six Nations Chiefs tied the Mann Cup at one game apiece, and now head for a crucial contest Monday.
The other major news of the week was the Panther City dispersal draft and ongoing NLL free agency period. Panther City’s demise was long rumoured by was made official during the labour day weekend.

PCLC Dispersal Draft Results
The NLL announced the results of the dispersal draft of the Panther City Lacrosse Club on Monday, with Will Malcom being the first pick!
Then immediately following the draft, the NLL jumped into its free agency period. The story so far has been the moves of the San Diego Seals, who have added NLL legends Rob Hellyer, Ryan Benesch, and Ben McIntosh to their offence this season.
With Dane Dobbie still unsigned and Curtis Dickson traded, the Seals offence will have a new look this season.
