Championship Season Continues With Presidents Cup

The calendar will flip to September this weekend, and championship season in Canada is in full swing. With the Minto and Founders Cup being decided last week, the attention now turns to the Presidents and Mann Cups.

Ontario

In Ontario, the news of the week was the Founders Cup victory by Elora, and the MSL title by the Six Nations Chiefs.

Elora dismantled the Hamilton Bengals 10-1 in the finals, capping off a dominant season. They only lost two times all summer.

The Meredith Cup for Junior C was won by the Peterborough Lakers.

In MSL, the Chiefs finally finished off the Peterborough Lakers after a tense six-game series. Check out the LCD recap of that contest below.

The Mann Cup begins Thursday September 5th in Six Nations.

British Columbia

While the Presidents Cup takes place in Ladner, the Coquitlam Adanacs will doubtlessly continue to celebrate their incredible Minto Cup championship. Subscribers to this newsletter would have received all of the LCD Minto coverage, but find the final article below.

The Presidents Cup final goes Saturday.

Alberta

Following a strong showing from the Raiders at the Minto, Alberta’s title hopes now rest with the Edmonton Miners, who were the only team to defeat the Ladner Pioneers this week at the Presidents Cup. They play Allegany this evening.
