Welcome back to Innies and Ouchies, LCD’s weekly NLL injury report.

The goal of this article is simple, to let fans know who is playing (innies!) and who is out (ouchies!). With the hustle and bustle of the season, it can be difficult to keep track of everything going on.

Lets get right into if for week one.

Toronto Rock vs Ottawa Black Bears

Rock Ouchies:

Brad Kri and TD Ierlan

The Rock made it easy this week and got a few days ahead of things, announcing that Brad Kri and TD Ierlan would not be in the lineup week one. Kri was added to the Physically Unable to Perform List (PUP), while Ierlan was added to the Injured Reserve with an ankle injury. Ierlan’s injury is expected to keep him out for multiple weeks, but he is expected to return this season.

Rock Innies

Tom Schreiber, Jake Darlison, Tyler Hendrycks

Schreiber is listed on the Active Roster this week after suffering a season ending injury in the PLL this summer. He played in Toronto’s scrimmage last week and also was named an Assistant Captain for this season. Darlison and Hendrycks draw in for Kri and Ierlan this week.

Black Bears Ouchies

Justin Robinson and Corson Kealey

Ottawa added Robinson and Kealey to the Injured Reserve on November 18th, but have not released any information on the injuries since then. With no update this morning, it seems likely that both of them will be out this week.

Black Bears Innies

Ottawa has not released information on any of their other players, so the Black Bears should be full-strength outside of Robinson and Kealey!

Colorado Mammoth vs Vancouver Warriors

Mammoth Ouchies:

Ryan Mclean, Brent Mitchell, AJ Mercurio and Kai George

The Mammoth released an official injury report this week, making it easy for Innies and Ouchies. Ryan Mclean, Brent Mitchell, AJ Mercurio, and Kai George are all out this week. All four players are defenders, so the back-end is beat up for the Mammoth going into week one.

Mammoth Innies:

Ryan Lee

Lacrosse fans get to do something tonight that they haven’t been able to do very often in recent memory: watch Ryan Lee play lacrosse. The right-handed offensive player returns tonight for Colorado after missing the entire 2024 season and only playing six games in 2023. In his last full season, he had 85 assists and 119 points, one of the best years in league history. Not many teams can say they added two 100 point scorers this off-season, but the Mammoth did with Lee and Will Malcom.

Warriors Ouchies:

Brad Mcculley, Riley Loewen, Ryan Sheridan and Steph Charbonneau

The Warriors are battling the injury bug already, with at least four NLL regulars on the IR to start the season. Mcculley and Loewen are both lefty offensive players, so there will likely be more opportunity for first-round pick Payton Cormier to factor into the lineup sooner than later. Vancouver has built impressive depth, but nobody wants to begin the season this banged up.

Warriors Innies:

Owen Grant

TORONTO, ON – February 24th, 2024 – NLL regular season game action between the Vancouver Warriors and the Toronto Rock on Saturday, February 24th, 2024 at FirstOntario Centre Arena in Hamilton, Ontario. (Christian Bender/NLL)

After sitting out the summer PLL season, Grant is back and ready to roll for the Warriors. LCD’s Adam Levi wrote about Grant’s impact this week, check that out here.

Rochester Knighthawks vs Vegas Desert Dogs

Knighthawks Ouchies

Mitch Ogilvie

The Knighthawks added Mitch Ogilvie to the PUP list on November 18, but he is the only players who looks to be inactive due to injury. He played all 18 games last year scoring 9 points.

Knighthawks Innies

The Knighthawks look to be at full-strength this weekend!

Desert Dogs Ouchies

Marshal King and Justin Geddie

According to the Dogs official roster, Geddie and King are both on the PUP list to begin the season. Nate Faccin will be the other goaltender alongside Landon Kells in Geddie’s absence.

Desert Dogs Innies

Other than King and Geddie, the Desert Dogs should be healthy heading into game one.

Saskatchewan Rush vs Albany Firewolves

Rush Ouchies

Connor McClelland

McClelland was added to the Injured Reserve on November 24th, and figures to miss the week one contest at Albany. He played in all 18 games for the Rush last season.

Rush Innies

The Rush had remarkably good health last season, with almost all of their top guys playing full 18 game seasons. So far so good, as other than McClelland everyone looks ready to go Saturday night.

Firewolves Ouchies

None

The Firewolves are at full-strength heading into 2024.

Firewolves Innies

Eric Fannell and Will Johansen

Both players were activated from the PUP list on November 4th, after neither competed last season in the NLL.

San Diego Seals vs Philadelphia Wings

Seals Ouchies

Cam Holding, Jacob Power, Trevor Baptiste, Patrick Shoemay

In-Game Action

Alongside Vancouver, one of the longer lists in the league already. Baptiste and Shoemay both carried injuries over from the summer. Holding and Power were added to the Injured Reserve last week. With two days to go before this Sunday game, anything can happen.

Seals Innies

The Seals don’t have anyone returning from significant injuries, so should be healthy other than the players listed above!

Wings Ouchies

Nick Rowlett, Mitchell Armstrong, Chris Harland

All three of the above players have been placed on the IR since camp started. Armstrong was one of the best players in Jr. A this summer where he played for Coach Rubel in St. Catharines. Rowlett was also a regular last year for the Wings, appearing in 12 games.

Wings Innies

Blaze Riorden, Holden Cattoni

Philadelphia Wings v Las Vegas Desert Dogs, 02-16-2024

Riorden and Cattoni were both placed on the PUP list during training camp but have both been activated before the beginning of the season. They will form a formidable left-side with Mitch Jones and rookie Brennan O’Neill for the Wings this season.

Stay tuned for more Innies and Ouchies every Friday!
