While Americans have played Jr. A lacrosse for some time, the trend has grown in popularity in recent years. In the past decade, NCAA superstars like Mac O’Keefe, Hugh Kelleher, CJ Kirst and Joey Spallina have spent time north of the border to hone their skills and prepare themselves for a future in the NLL.Â
Kirst was one of the more successful candidates who have followed this strategy and he credited the summer he spent in Mimico with helping him develop as a goal-scorer and shooter.Â
What was once a player or two has now become a legitimate pipeline for American players across college lacrosse. This is true once again this year, with several Americans in the OJLL. Check out the list below for the full class of 2025!
Peyton Booth – Toronto Beaches
Listing his hometown as Charlottesville, Virginia, Booth is competing in his second season with the Toronto Beaches after coming up last year as well. In 8 games this season, he has already surpassed last year’s total of 30 points in 22 combined games between playoffs and regular season.
Booth is making the most of his bigger role this year, scoring 5 goals in the first game of the year and having goals in every game except for one. He is a big part of the Beaches offence that has had to replace a lot of production from last year.Â
Heading to Cornell University next fall, Booth will join the defending National Champions Big Red and current Beaches teammate Willem Firth.
Booth is currently the leading scorer among Americans in the OJLL.
Stone Evans – Burlington Blaze
First emerging onto the scene with the Jamaican national team, Evans plays his college lacrosse for Coach Bobby Benson and the Providence Friars. He scored a goal and an assist in 9 games this year and figures to be a big part of the Friar offence going forward.Â
For the Blaze, Evans has 8 goals and 9 assists in 8 games played, helping the Blaze in what has proven to be a rebuilding year.
Evans lists his hometown as Hartford, Connecticut.
Luke Reiter and Colin Burns – Mimico Mountaineers
Speaking of replacing production, the Mimico Mountaineers had to replace most of their lineup this off-season and continued their yearly decision to supplement that roster with American talent.
Reiter plays his college lacrosse for the Vermont Catamounts and is from Madison, Wisconsin. At Vermont, he was named second-team America East All-Conference and finished with 8 goals and 19 assists this year.Â
He’s out to a nice start to his box career, with 5 goals and 9 assists in his first 7 games for the Mountaineers.
Burns hails from Potomac, Maryland and competes collegiately for the Princeton Tigers. He had 46 points for the Tigers this year on 29 goals and 17 assists, good for fourth in scoring on an elite Princeton offence.
So far in the box, Burns has 4 goals and 5 assists in 4 games for the Mountaineers.
Caswell Friedman – Toronto Beaches
Friedman is finishing his time in Ontario with an OJLL summer after doing a PG year at the Hill Academy. The Los Angeles native is heading to the University of North Carolina this fall where he will join a Tar Heel team that is looking to take another step next season.
He was a USA Lacrosse All American at St. Margaret’s Episcopal School in 2024 before joining the Hill Academy. He lists himself as an SSDM in the field game.Â
Indoors, Friedman has a goal and assist in 7 games for the Beaches.
Matt King – Burlington Blaze
King is coming off his third season at Robert Morris and is competing in his second season for the Blaze. A native of Ballston Spa, New York, King has a goal in 4 games played this year after scoring 2 goals and 5 assists in 22 games last summer.
Caden Ferich – Brampton Excelsiors
A Bloomfield Hills, Michigan native, Ferich plays for the Detroit Mercy Titans and graduated from the powerhouse Brother Rice high school. Listed at 6’4, 210 lbs, he has added some nice size to the backend for the Excels this summer.Â
He has an assist and 10 PIMS in 6 games for Brampton this summer.
Aaron Eberhard – Toronto Beaches
Eberhard lists his hometown as Amherst, N.Y and joins a long list of Buffalo Players to pick up the box game that includes Joe Resetarits and Connor Fields. The 6’2, 220-pound defender was named to the A-10 All-Rookie team this year at St. Bonaventure.Â
He has an assist in 8 games played for the Beaches this summer.
