On today’s episode of The College Lacrosse Show, Dan and Donny run through which first round opponents they would choose in the NCAA lacrosse tournament!

Would Princeton actually choose Harvard in the first round of the NCAA lacrosse tournament? The Crimson are one of the worst faceoff teams in the country, and one of the few worse than Princeton. Would the Tigers take the chance to compete against Harvard for the third time?

Then what about the Ohio State Buckeyes? Surely, they wouldn’t play Notre Dame as the committee prescribed, but would opt for a date with the Towson Tigers or Colgate Raiders.

Assuming they chose Towson, would Penn State be happy to play Colgate? This one we will see this weekend for real, but it’s hard to beat a team twice. That leaves some fun rematches on the table like Syracuse vs Notre Dame, Duke vs Richmond, and a date between UNC and Georgetown.

Then they spend the rest of the episode discussing each of the eight first round games Pardon the Interruption style, with two minutes on the clock for each gentleman. Richmond will be a trendy upset pick, but do they really have the advantage against Carolina? And does Georgetown have a chance to score against a Duke defence that has been so solid recently?

On the flip side, which of the top seeds could be at risk this weekend? Listen to the boys to find out.

There are tons of great storylines to follow this weekend, from faceoff to clearing woes, to teams with very different momentum stumbling or surging into the playoffs. It will be fascinating to see just what happens.

Make sure to stay tuned to Lacrosse Culture Daily for more NCAA tournament coverage all weekend long, including more detailed written previews of the major games this weekend.
