Every NLL team was back in action this past weekend for training camp week four, in another busy slate of games. Every team was in action this weekend except for Vancouver and Calgary, and there was plenty of news to catch up on.

The most significant news of the week likely hasn’t come yet though, as most teams will make significant cuts this week in preparation for the season. Make sure to stay tuned to the NLL transaction page all week to see the roster decisions made by your favourite teams.

In a newer NLL phenomenon, two of the scrimmages this weekend were streamed. The first was the game between the Toronto Rock and Saskatchewan Rush.

And the second was the game between the Georgia Swarm and Halifax Thunderbirds!

Make sure to refer to LCD’s schedule for preseason which is sorted by venue!

Without further ado, lets get right into the action.

Albany Firewolves

The Firewolves took on the Philadelphia Wings Sunday at the ILA, losing 10-9. While the game was not available online, the Firewolves reported that right-handed forwards John Piatelli and Tye Kurtz scored twice each.

The Firewolves conducted most of their business over the weekend at the TRAC, including a post-practice shootout where they captured some good little insight into the battles between goaltenders and shooters.

Buffalo Bandits

The Bandits were victorious 14-10 over the Vegas Desert Dogs in front of a nearly packed house at the Meridian Center in St. Catharines. Kyle Buchanan had 6 goals to pace the Bandits.

They also posted this adorable video of goaltender Matt Vinc and his young son getting some reps in before the game.

The Bandits are back in action Saturday night against the Georgia Swarm at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Six Nations.

Calgary Roughnecks

The Roughnecks were off this weekend, but did make some roster moves last week. They released Jack Posey, Carter Cook, and Steve Fryer from the training camp roster.

This is notable particularly because it clears the confusion regarding the goaltending situation. Cam Macleod will be the starter for Calgary.

The Roughnecks are back in action this week when they take on the Warriors at the Langley Events Center.

Colorado Mammoth

The Mammoth fell in their scrimmage against San Diego this weekend by a score of 11-6. Will Malcom, Zed Williams, Tyson Gibson, Connor Robinson, Vince D’Alto, and Owen Rahn all scored for the Mammoth in the loss.

Georgia Swarm and Halifax Thunderbirds

The Swarm took on the Halifax Thunderbirds Saturday at the ILA. Georgia won the scrimmage by a score of 15-14.

The full scrimmage is available on Youtube, thanks to the Smart Sports Network. Check out the link below!

Both teams will be back in action Saturday during a double-header in Six Nations. Halifax will play Ottawa at 5 PM and Buffalo will play Georgia at 8 PM.

Vegas Desert Dogs

The Desert Dogs lost 13-8 to the Saskatchewan Rush on Friday, and 14-10 on Saturday to the Buffalo Bandits.

They have concluded their scrimmage schedule for training camp.

Ottawa Black Bears

The Black Bears turned a 9-3 halftime lead into a 14-13 loss to the Rochester Knighthawks on Saturday at Memorial Arena in Brampton.

They are back in action Saturday against Halifax.

Philadelphia Wings

The Wings defeated the Albany Firewolves 10-9 on Sunday at the ILA. They will take on the Toronto Rock Saturday at the TRAC in Oakville.

Rochester Knighthawks

The Khawks got in the win column with a second half comeback win over Ottawa.

They got two first-half goals from second-year man Thomas McConvey, including this slick pick and roll with Connor Fields.

Speaking of Fields, he added this nice dodge underneath to contribute to the second half comeback.

San Diego Seals

The Seals defeated the Mammoth 11-6 on their new practice facility in San Diego. They have also concluded their preseason schedule for the year.

Saskatchewan Rush

It was a great weekend for Rush fans, as their team beat the Vegas Desert Dogs 13-8 on Friday, and the Toronto Rock 11-9 on Saturday.

Starting with Friday, rookie Brock Haley and veteran Robert Church scored 4 goals each for the Rush.

Haley got the first of the game on a nice cut and shot.

Then Robert Church finished his fourth of the game on a sweet feed from new Rush member Austin Shanks.

And then Haley found his third off a nice post-up move.

Lastly, Josh Zawada added to the scoring late for Saskatchewan.

The Rush had a trio of interviews after the game, starting with Haley.

Then goaltender Thomas Kiazyk.

Then switching to Saturday, Church stayed hot with his patented pass from Ryan Keenan.

Then Clark Walter got his name on social media with a nice goal of his own.

In the third quarter, Jake Boudreau added his name to the score sheet.

And finally, Walter got another one.

Hear from rookie Josh Zawada:

And Co-Head Coach Derek Keenan.

The Rush have also finished their preseason exhibition schedule.
