Of all the storied venues in Canadian lacrosse, few have the history and legacy of Queen’s Park arena in New Westminster, British Columbia.

The rink has been the home of the Salmonbellies since 1930, and has produced some of the best lacrosse players in Canadian history.

On a recent episode of The Back of the Bird, Byrne explained what it was like playing (and watching) games on that legendary wood floor. Check out the long form of his comments below.

Buildings are of course only made legendary by what happens inside them, but the wooden floor at Queen’s Park is perhaps the most historic physical feature of any rink in the country.
