As the NLL Free Agency Period continues, multiple trades have been executed around the league.

Looking to the trades, there have been several since the dispersal draft, so let’s get right into it.
Hoggarth Heading East
Thomas Hoggarth was traded from the Calgary Roughnecks to the Halifax Thunderbirds in return for Caelan Mander, 2024 first round selection, and a 2026 4th round selection.
Hoggarth played just the one season in Calgary, scoring 14 goals and 4 assists. Mander played this season in Jr. A for the Port-Coquitlam Saints, helping lead the club to the Minto Cup. He appeared in three contests for Halifax last season.
Fannell On the Move
Albany Firewolves traded a first round selection in the 2026 Entry Draft and a conditional fourth round pick in the 2026 Entry Draft to the Halifax Thunderbirds for lefty forward Eric Fannell.
Fannell joins a left-side that includes Ethan Walker, Marshall Powless, Sam Firth, and incoming rookie Dyson Williams. Fannell has spent his entire career with the Thunderbirds / Knighthawks franchise. He missed the 2024 season, but played 17 games for the Thunderbirds in 2023, scoring a career high 29 goals and 52 points.
He had some memorable moments in Halifax, including the OT game winner that he scored right-handed against the Saskatchewan Rush.
Robinson and Witty Swap Places
The Buffalo Bandits announced their trade of Brandon Robinson to the Rochester Knighthawks in return for Thomas Witty.
Robinson was a two-time champion in Buffalo. In 2024, he played 13 regular season games, finishing with 9 goals and 8 assists. He added another 4 goals and 3 assists in the playoffs, helping the Bandits secure the championship.
Witty played in 44 games for the Knighthawks since their inception, scoring a goal and 12 assists in that time.
Dunbar For Deaken
The San Diego Seals traded Jacob Dunbar to the Ottawa Black Bears in exchange for Zack Deaken. Dunbar had 8 goals and 12 assists in just 7 games played last season for the Seals. He will join a right-side in Ottawa that includes Connor Kearnan, Taggart Clark, and Josh Currier.
Deaken was the 8th overall selection of the 2022 NLL Entry Draft by the then-Riptide. He played in 13 games last season for the Riptide, adding 3 goals and 51 loose balls.
Ottawa Gets Their Goalie
The Black Bears traded Phil Caputo, Liam Patten, and their 2027 first round selection in return for goaltender Zack Higgins from the Philadelphia Wings. Higgins was made expendable following the selection of Nick Damude in the dispersal draft.
Higgins played in all 18 games last season for the Wings, and stopped 78% of his shots. He posted a 12.50 GAA. The Black Bears will be the 5th franchise that he has played for.
Caputo enjoyed a breakout season for PCLC in 2022, scoring 34 goals. He followed that up with 22 and 24 goal seasons for the Club, and will join a right-side that includes Joe Resetarits and Sam Leclair.
Patten scored 3 goals and 7 assists last season, and returns to the Wings where he played the 2019 and 2020 seasons.
