The OJLL Announced their 2024 league award nominees on Sunday. The awards are voted on by representatives of each team. Below is a full list of the league award nominees.
While the award winners will be announced at a later date, the league did name first and second team all-stars.
First Team
The first team consisted of Goaltender Thomas Kiazyk (Beaches), Defenders Dante Bowen (Brampton / Orangeville) and Michael White (Whitby), and Forwards Willem Firth (Beaches), Nolan Byrne (Brampton), and Will Macleod (Burlington).
Second Team
The second team consisted of goaltender Connor O’Toole (Brampton / Orangeville), defenders Nick Crowley (Peterborough) and Nicolas Volkov (Burlington / Mimico), and forwards Finlay Thomson (Mimico), Liam Matthews (Orangeville), and Will Sheehan (Oakville / Beaches).
MVP
The three nominees for the Green Gael Trophy in memory of Dennis McIntosh were Nolan Byrne, Will Macleod, and Willem Firth.
Coach of the Year
The Jim Bishop Award for Coaching Staff of the year nominees are the Whitby Warriors, Brampton Excelsiors, and Orangeville Northmen.
Most Outstanding Player
The Jim Veltman award nominees are Joey Spallina, Will Mcleod, and Willem Firth.
Most Outstanding Defensive Player
The John ‘Gus’ McCauley award nominees are Mike White, Josh Ford, and Hayden Hiltz.
Rookie of the Year
The Joe Nieuwendyk award nominees are Colby Wood, Jacob Janke, and Arie Steenhuis.
Most Sportsmanlike Player
The Gaylord Powless award nominees are Will Sheehan, Chris Rathwell, and Gabe Sorichetti.
Transition Player of the Year
The Terry Sanderson award nominees are Hayden Hiltz, Sam Trumble, and David Peterkin.
Goalie of the Year
The Sanderson Award in Memory of Chris and Ryan nominees are Thomas Kiazyk, Sakaronhiotane Thompson, and Connor O’Toole.
