Mimico and Edmonton Secure Crucial Victories

The Edmonton Miners and Mimico Mountaineers both secured massive wins over the weekend, with both teams winning the all-important game three after dropping the first two.

Now heading for the fourth game in each respective series, the Miners and Mountaineers will both have opportunities to even the series. Mimico will play Tuesday while the Miners will have to wait until Wednesday.

The Port Coquitlam Saints will hope that they can re-create the same magic after falling down 2-0 to the Coquitlam Adanacs. Unfortunately for the Saints, they are only in a five game series so their backs are against the wall.

Fortunately for the Saints, they have already locked up a spot in the Minto Cup.

Speaking of the Minto Cup, check out the second episode of the “Road to the Minto Cup,” which has been produced by Tino Fera and the Coquitlam Adanacs.

As a reminder, the Box Lacrosse Roundup newsletter will be sent out every Monday and Friday at Noon EST. Interested readers can find subscription boxes on any of the landing pages linked below.

As a correction to Friday’s newsletter, the 2024 Victoria Shamrocks are the first team to complete a “perfect” season but not the first to go “undefeated.” The 2001 Shamrocks went 19-0-1, and deserve to be considered amongst the best WLA teams of all time.

The WLA playoffs kick off tomorrow when Langley will take on Maple Ridge.

In the BCJALL, the Coquitlam Adanacs completed an important second round victory over the Port Coquitlam Saints.

It was a balanced scoring effort from the Adanacs, who were led by 5 points from Cody Malawsky (2 goals, 3 assists). The Saints got 5 goals from Silas Richmond.
