Adanacs Finish Perfect Playoff While OJLL Continues Legendary Final

It was another phenomenal week of Box Lacrosse action, with outstanding games to follow both north and south of the border.

The biggest news is the upcoming sixth game of the OJLL finals between Mimico and Orangeville. Fans around the world have been tuning into the Youtube streams, as that series has the potential to reach a legendary game seven. Orangeville will try to close out Saturday night.

As always on Fridays, the three stars for the week are the following.

โญ: Trey Deere, Orangeville Northmen Jr. A. 12 Goals, 8 Assists, through five OJLL finals games

โญโญ: Kyle Pepper, Victoria Shamrocks Sr. A. Scored the game winning goal with one second remaining in Overtime to lift Victoria over New Westminster.

โญโญโญ: Lucas Dudemaine, Mimico Mountaineers Jr. A. 11 Goals and 12 Assists in five OJLL finals games, including the OT winner in Game three.

Checking south of the border, the NCBS National Championship was played this week in Utica, New York. The championship brings together the best college aged box lacrosse players around the country for a national tournament. LCD’s Jon Donville was on site in Utica this week for the tournament and wrote about some standout players. Check that out below!

Ontario

The Ontario finals took another step towards legendary status after Mimico evened the series on Tuesday night. Orangeville bounced back however with a strong defensive effort in game five in front of a massive crowd at Tony Rose.

Trey Deere scored another one of the goals of the year with his ridiculous short-handed tally with one-hand. It was part of a three-goal effort for Deere. Check out all three below!


In the MSL, the Peterborough Lakers completed the sweep over the Brooklin Lacrosse Club, and will now face off against Six Nations in the Ontario finals. A schedule for that series has not been released yet.

British Columbia

The BCJALL finals wrapped up this week with a strong effort by the Coquitlam Adanacs. By finishing the playoffs undefeated, the Adanacs put themselves in some elite historical company. Read more about that below.

In the WLA, the Victoria Shamrocks pulled of an improbable game one victory over the New Westminster Salmonbellies.

After giving up the tying goal with seven seconds remaining, Victoria’s Kyle Pepper picked up a loose ball off the faceoff and scored with one second remaining to seal the victory for Victoria. Check out the highlights below.

Meanwhile the series between Langley and Maple Ridge is tied at one game apiece following the bounce-back victory for Langley.

Alberta

In the RMLL, the Miners fought back with another victory, bringing the series to an even two games apiece. Edmonton trailed 2-0 after losing twice at home, but fought back with two road victories. Check out the game four highlights below!
