Canada and USA have both announced their rosters for the upcoming sixes tournament, The World Games, which will be held in Chengdu, China later this summer. 

The tournament is yet another step towards the 2028 Olympics, as the major countries further hone their sixes strategy. The 2025 World Games will not feature a Men’s competition.

Canada enters the tournament as the top seed, having won The World Games in 2022 in Birmingham. Eight players from that roster return this summer, including Erica Evans and Aurora Cordingley.

Evans and teammate Jordan Dean were members of the 2024 box lacrosse team at the WLBC, while Brookyln Walker-Welch was a USILA first-team All-American and National Champion this season at UNC. Dean was a third-team All-American for UMass at the draw. 

The Canadian side is led by Shawn Williams, who will coach his daughter Dylana in the tournament. 

The Americans will bring some of the biggest names in the sport with them to Chengdu, headlined by Charlotte North. The group also features this year’s Tewaarton award winner Chloe Humphrey, and in total features a total of six Tewaarton trophies between Humphrey, North, Izzy Scane and Sam Apuzzo.

Team USA will be coached by Lindsey Munday, who is currently the Head Coach at the University of Southern California. 

The Canadians will play in Group 1 alongside Great Britain, Japan, and China. Team USA will compete against Czechia, Ireland, and Australia.

The World Games is a multi-sport competition held every four years. This year’s event will run from August 7-17. Chengdu is a city in the Sichuan province of China, with a population of nearly 21 million people.
