It was the usual suspects leading the way for the 2025 rookie class this week, as the race for the Rookie of the Year award heads towards the finish line… well except for Dalton Young.
As he has often done, Dyson Williams led the scoring for the class this week with a goal and 5 assists, as part of a huge win for the Albany Firewolves over the San Diego Seals. That effort brought him over the 60-point plateau in his rookie season.
However arguably the story of the week was the play of the rookies in Philadelphia. Brennan O’Neill had 2 goals and 3 assists as part of this late season resurgence for the Wings. But he wasn’t alone in this one, as Dalton Young, playing in just his second career game, added 2 goals and 3 assists of his own.
One of the assists was a slick feed into teammate Phil Caputo, a play that made Young look like a seasoned vet!

Williams leads the rookie scoring race heading into the final weekend by 4 points. O’Neill is close on his heels with 57 points of his own.

In Ottawa, Vegas rookies Adam Poitras and Jackson Webster had another good night. Poitras had his third hat-trick of the season, while Jackson Webster had 2 goals and an assist of his own.

That was the inverse statline of Halifax forward Mike Robinson, who had a goal and 2 assists in their loss to the Bandits.
Clay Scanlan, Jake Darlison, Levi Anderson and Will Johansen all found the back of the net last week as well, while Brock Haley added 2 assists for the Rush.
Ottawa’s Jake Stevens added 2 caused turnovers and a blocked shot to lead the defensive stats, while faceoff man Alec Stathakis had an incredible 18 loose balls for the Vancouver Warriors.
That’s all for this week. Who do you think should be the Rookie of the Year? Let us know in the comments below!
