There arguably hasn’t been a better story in the sport this year than the Ohio State Buckeyes. After losing their opener to the Utah Utes, the Buckeyes have won 11 straight games and look to be one of the best teams in America.

They are led in scoring by Alex Marinier (Burlington, Ontario) who is up to 40 goals on the season. He added 6 goals to his record book on the weekend as Ohio State soundly defeated the Johns Hopkins Blue Jays on Homewood field.

Marinier is tied for second in the country in scoring and still appears in official NCAA data as a defender. That’s because he went to Columbus with a long-stick in his hands, and shifted to the offensive side of the ball midway through his career. A Minto Champion with the Blaze in 2023, he has championship pedigree that has helped the Buckeyes all season.

The Bucks have a date with the Maryland Terrapins on the weekend, a rivalry that is more nasty than most. The Burlington native figures to play a large role, especially if Ohio State is going to come out on top.

Before we get into the rest of the country, I am going to commit to getting out a women’s version of this article later this week. I apologize for the lack of such article so far this season, but the work to prepare the database has proven difficult.

Let’s begin with a Canadians in the NCAA introduction for Carson Robins (Bracebridge, Ontario) who had 3 goals and 3 assists for the High Point Panthers. It was the first ranked victory for coach John Crawley and the Panthers, and was a breakout game for Robins. Just 5th on the team in scoring, Saturday was just his sixth career start, but he’s paying it off so far.

No strangers to this column are Silas Richmond (Delta, British Columbia) and Lucas Littlejohn (Courtice, Ontario). Richmond had 10 points last week including a 4 goal effort against Cornell, while Littlejohn had 5 goals and a helper for the Richmond Spiders. Both righty attackmen have been among the most productive Canadians this season.

Willem Firth (Ottawa, Ontario) had a good week for Cornell with 4 goals and 2 assists in two games, while teammate Andy Dalton chipped in a pair of goals as well.

Speaking of teammates, Mercyhurst Lakers Ethan Landymore (Okotoks, Alberta) and Jérémi Phoenix-Lefebvre (Terrebonne, Quebec) had a combined 8 goals and 3 assists to lead the Lake Show over the weekend.

Another column debut goes to Nick Pelletier (Ottawa) who had 3 goals and 2 assists for the Robert Morris Colonials, taking the load off Calum Brennan, who still had a hat-trick.

Other big performances came from Noah Manning (3 goals, 1 assist), Alex Roussel (3 goals, 1 assist), Owen Hiltz (2 goals, 2 assists), and Jaxon Fridge (4 assists).

Denver’s Daniel Clark (Peterborough), Queens’ Jack Royer (Edmonton, Alberta) and Brennan all had hat-tricks.

Defensively, Aaron Toguri (Toronto, Ontario) had a big week at Jacksonville, including a 5 caused turnover game against the Air Force Falcons.

Liam Moffatt (Toronto) had 3 caused turnovers for Cleveland State and Michael White (Whitby, Ontario) had 3 for Queens.

Check out the full list of stats below! And stay tuned for more Canadians in the NCAA!
